A frequently asked question

I often get asked where you can watch/read project Ember or when it will be available. It’s been temporarily titled project Ember because it’s currently nothing but that, a project. While I am very excited to bring my story to life one day as an animated series, I’m still only a kid. I definitely have plans for this series but making such a complicated project would require experience, time, money, and a team of talented people, all things I don’t have. I ask you to please be patient with me and enjoy this channel and my art for now.Make sure you’re really in the know with all the extra project Ember content by checking out my other platforms:Youtube

A research and medical facility originally founded by the Shogane family

Genesis labs

Characters

Inside Genesis labs, you run into a few different people

Humanity’s greatest flaw

You find a brochure(?) detailing Dr. Shogane’s research

Humanity’s greatest flaw, as doctor Edith believed; was death. Something felt so deeply, especially when those you love are the ones taken from you. The Shogane’s; Dr. Edith and Dr. Alexandre were both apart of an organized research that was said to potentially regenerate, restore, and reanimate dead cells. “Creating something from nothing” was supposed to be something humans would never accomplish, but here we oppose that theory, and use our advanced research to save lives. This could be a new age for humanity! And new “Genesis” if you will.

you set down the paper you had been reading and look out the window. A bleak dangerous world stared back at you. Even though you couldn’t see them now you know in your gut that furies littered the nearby forests.“Well that was an optimistic history lesson. Something tells me this ‘Genesis Labs’ is where everything went wrong. Heh… although that won’t stop me from doing a little snooping around…”

Project Four

Objective:
Search Genesis labs for a “key”

You come across a small filling cabinet, one of the drawers prominently labeled “project Four”.You pull on the lever, the drawer won’t budge. It’s locked. Whatever’s inside must be a valuable secret… and curiosity gnaws at the edges of your mind.Perhaps there’s a key somewhere that can open it?

(Read “Four” before continuing)Finally you’ve obtained the key, and now you excitedly twist it into the file cabinet’s lock, eager to see what’s inside.

you wake up with a jolt, finding yourself on the floor of the room where you had previously found the filing cabinet.
It was just a dream…
…right?

Dr. Edith Shogane

56 years old, as of arc 2
Birthday 12/04

this interaction is set during the second arcAs you make your way down the cold, clean, almost unwelcoming halls of Genesis labs, you pass by a figure with an unsettling presence. The woman stops in her path to address you. you could choose to continue walking, but something about her authoritative voice commanded you to be still.
“You appear to be lacking a uniform. Under what authority do you trample about the grounds of this facility?”
The woman had sleek black hair, cold dark eyes, and a dry frown that made you instantly feel ashamed despite not yet doing anything wrong.
You’ve encountered Doctor Edith Shogane, founder and current head of Genesis Labs.

Abilities

- abilities? I have been a doctor and a scientist under the study of human biology for over 29 years. I specialize in the study of cell rejuvenation and uncovering the immunity to death.

Favorite food

- favorite food? Food is merely a resource to the body. However, I often enjoy a bagel for breakfast, it is efficient.

Hobbies

- Hobbies? I read. Occasionally.

Fears

- fears? When you come to my age you will learn fear is merely a safety mechanic we have evolved with over millions of years to ensure humanity’s survival. In the end it is up to you to debate whether or not something is worth fearing.

How do you feel about the beast wielders

How do I feel about the beast “wielders”? The so called god sent saviors are merely lazy excuses for the gods “saving humanity” by sending children to fight their battles. Nonetheless they have something I need, and for the sake of humanity’s survival I am not above taking it.

Dr. Alexandre Shogane

52 years old, as of death
Birthday 02/14

You come across a memorial for someone on your little exploration of the faculty. It featured the name “Dr. Alexandre Shogane”, dates of birth and death, and a short paragraph that followed. According to the plaque his family name was the founder of this Lab, and he was the late husband of Dr. Edith.
Interesting, he seems like a good guy? You wonder what he would think if he saw the state the world was in now. Dying just before the apocalypse started. lucky guy, he left just in time. That’s quite the coincidence you suppose.

Dr. Caine

23 years old, as of arc 3
Birthday ???

Whilst navigating the halls of Genesis labs you run into a man with short copper hair and a crooked scar running across his nose.
“May I help you?”
He asks in a condescending tone.
You’ve met Caine, Dr. Edith’s right hand assistant. (As of the third arc he promoted himself to head of the organization after the mysterious death of madam Shogane)

Abilities

- Abilities? I’ve spent the last five years studying under Dr. Shogane. My levels of intellectual strength are admirable but my physical strength is- lacking. That is only temporary however, once I complete my latest project crafted of Edith’s leftover research I shall be able to take even a wielder of gods blood with ease. I- I should not be telling you this… who are you anyways?

Favorite food

- my favorite food? I am quite fond of anything hazelnut flavored, including the nut itself.

Hobbies

- Hobbies? I… enjoy a bit of sketching here and there. I’m no good unfortunately and hardly have the time to partake in such an unproductive activity- it just- scratches an internal itch I suppose.

Fears

- Fears? Women. Respectfully I do not trust them and am not fond of them. The only trustworthy woman I know is Dakota, because she rescued me from the basement that old hag trapped me in. I would’ve died if she hadn’t decided to free me.

How do you feel about the beast wielders

How do I feel about the beast wielders?
How would I know I’ve hardly met them.
I know that they’re a pain. I’m trying to undo the damage Edith has inflicted on this world, its people, and my reputation. I’m looking for the 7 masks of the great Beasts, ancient relics rumored to have the power of the beasts themselves. The beast wielders just happen to be tailing off my research, and I intend to get to the relics first.I have clever detailed files on each of the wielders, I’m smart enough to study what I’m up against, but uh off the top of my head?
I remember… There’s tall one, his name is like Seth or something
The pink one’s name is Amber I think.
Then there’s the short one…
and the tall woman, the sun wielder I remember is Dawn. A terrifying sight.
The big handsome one with the stunning eyes and gravely voice is Abe, the moon wielder. What- don’t look at me like that, if you saw him you’d agree.
Then there’s the blonde one with the bangs and the Ice wielder with the bow. She’s an excellent shot, I took an iced up arrow to the shoulder and that’s an experience I’ll remember.

As Dr. Caine is walking away, a glint of something shiny on the floor catches your eye. You stoop down to pick it up, it’s a key… Caine must’ve dropped it.
You look back up to Caine, who’s already half way down the hall.
You consider returning it to him… but what fun would that be? You decide to pocket the key for later.

Key

(Read “four” before using key.)

Dakota Green

21 years old, as of arc 3
Birthday 09/09

You happen to bump into a woman with short green hair and a small star tattoo on her cheek. She scrambles to grab a paper that flew out of her grasp and turns to face you.
“I apologize I really should watch where I’m going…”
You’ve met Dakota, Caine’s most trusted assistant.

Abilities

- abilities? Hm… well before the apocalypse I was training in the medical field, Genesis was kind enough to continue my training in exchange for my services when needed. Now alongside Dr. Caine I’m apart of the board of scientists that studies the virus and its mutations, pretty neat huh. I’m also a great big sister if that counts?

Favorite food

- My favorite food? I love ripe strawberries, they’re so sweet- and such a nice color too!

Hobbies

- Hobbies? I’m afraid I don’t have many, not much time for things like that these days. I like to sew I suppose… and I used to play the violin but unfortunately I lost it when we evacuated and I can’t afford a new one.

Fears

- Fears? I worry that my little sister Eva will have to grow up in the horrible state the world is in, it’s a dangerous place outside of Genesis labs and she could get hurt. That’s why I can’t afford to lose this job, for Eva’s safety.

The Beast Wielders

You get to know the Heroes chosen by the great Beasts themselves

The great Beasts

Celestial beings and the gods of this realm

Forgotten saviors

Many centuries ago the great Beasts know as Sun, Moon, Storm, Sea, Earth, Ice, and Fire, lived alongside the humans and other life that inhabited the land. The Beasts happily tended to their duties of taking care of the land and making sure it flourished.
The Humans were enthralled by the Beasts and worshiped them as gods, but overtime humanity evolved exceedingly faster than the rest of the life on earth, they were smarter, cleverer, developed more demands and even fought amongst themselves.
Many humans died and just as many were born each day, many souls lost in cold blooded acts. These bitter souls became so plentiful that they became evil forces, bringing famine and quick spreading illness to the people. These bitter spirits would even drive some humans mad, killing and contributing more souls to this ever growing disease.
The surviving humans cried out to their gods, offering them prayers and gifts, including seven beautiful masks carved to resemble the likeness of each Beast.
The great Beasts heard the people’s cries and together they sealed halves of the great evil into the seven masks, ensuring the land’s safety for centuries to come.
Out of fear of the masks falling into the wrong hands and the great evil being released, the Beasts chose seven pure humans to build carefully constructed vaults to protect the masks from harm. These chosen humans became renowned leaders amongst the people and were named Beast guardians during their service protecting the masks.
Today the Beasts are close to being forgotten by time, very few believe they ever did exist and that it was merely a fable of old. After all… no one could ever find the masks.

You think to yourself,
if the Beasts control the land… what controls the Beasts? What made them? Did they evolve from micro organisms like the humans did? Surely not, there doesn’t seem to be anything else like them. They are otherworldly creatures but surely they didn’t just- start existing. Are there other creatures out there? Creatures even more powerful than them…?

Deylotaur

A land who’s people decays

History

Although most say it was originally founded by the great Beasts, the first human to claim the land as “Deylotaur” was a Chief by the name of Deylon. There are many history books detailing Deylon and the great feats he accomplished in his life, they were the first recorded ruler of a Deylotaurian country. His domain covered most of the country we know as Cora Terrae today. There is currently no ruler of Cora Terrae because its people report that Deylon’s final wish was that the land were to be owned by its people, and no ruler should ever succeed him after his passing.

Many country’s leaders rose and fell throughout the wars of the Vincit Era (around 600-700 SD). as of now the largest known remaining Kingdom is Rajai Sol, a peaceful Country that has stood for the last thousand years according to texts.

Although many kingdoms have fallen several cities have taken a more recent approach of selecting a fit leader to lead only the country’s capitals, the rest of the country’s land being free territory and being governed by the will of the earth.

Much of Deylotaur’s people are very in touch with ancient cultures and practices that have been carried for centuries. Many sacred grounds still stand that are forbade from being built upon, and oftentimes Deylotaurians follow only the laws of Nature as opposed to the laws of man.

Ember Fox

17 years old, as of arc 3
Birthday 08/07

Abilities

- abilities? I’m the fire wielder! Although I haven’t been for very long I’d say I’m prettyyyy awesome at it. I’m pretty great at close range combat, but with my whip sword I can also land blows from afar. I bet you’re pretty impressed right now.

Favorite food

- my favorite food? I LOVE waffles, I hadn’t had one before I became a beast Wielder, but using Céfiro’s many many toasters sometimes Dawn makes them for breakfast. I always take extras and freeze them for a midnight snack. I don’t like em with syrup though, blegh- too sweet.

Hobbies

- Hobbies? I used to love exploring abandoned structures and keeping the cool stuff I find but I haven’t had much time for that since I’ve become a beast Wielder. Sometimes I like to stay up late looking at comics though! Especially comics about ninjas… Not the best at reading but I like looking at the pictures.

Fears

- Fears? I mean furies are scary and all but you know what’s really terrifying? Frogs. Those things with their beady eyes and slimey skin sneakin’ up on ya- eugh I can’t stand em.

How do you feel about the other Beast wielders?

Abe: I actually think he’s really cool… don’t tell him I said so. I don’t think he likes me much though. Probably because I’m taking over as the new wielder of fire, the role his friend used to have. At least that’s what Dawn told me.

Dawn: She’s been the most friendly to me and has been showing me the ropes for all of this weird beast wielder stuff. She’s also like crazy strong, I bet she could beat Abe in an arm wrestle- I’m yet to see it happen but I’d definitely pay to watch.

Ivy: she’s pretty helpful and knows all kinds of crazy stuff about plants and medicine. Although her methods are questionable. Once I twisted my wrist real bad and she just patched it up, offered me a shot of what I think was hard liquor- and shoved me out of her office.

Winter: we haven’t really had a one on one conversation because I dont quite understand all that jazz she does with her hands- but there’s something about her I don’t trust, something about the way she stares at me… I avoid eye contact because I’m worried that if I catch her gaze she’ll try to turn me into a popsicle. I’m also convinced she doesn’t blink.

Kei: I made a bad first impression by kind of maybe accidentally insulting Céfiro… I don’t think he likes me- frankly I don’t know if I like him either. he yaps too much. I think he likes comics too since I’ve seen a few in his room, maybe i should ask him about it?

Céfiro: I don’t quite understand the guy but he seems pretty cool. A lot of toasters. Like by the Beasts why does this guy have so many toasters…
He makes a lot of neat stuff though, like he made my sunglasses so I won’t get flash-banged every time I use my abilities.

Dawn Vega

24 years old, as of arc 3
Birthday 11/30

Abilities

- Abilities? I’m known as the sun wielder, my skill is summoning and storing objects in a pocket dimension, useful in combat if you feel like throwing a rickety old school bus at your opponent. That was funny. I’m very good at jokes.

Favorite food

- My favorite food? I love chocolate! Although that’d be more of a dessert than a food… some of the best chocolate you’ll ever have is the kind from Rajahi Sol, my kingdom. No one else quite makes it like home. I miss home…

Hobbies

- Hobbies? I enjoy baking and reading! I make some mean chocolate chip muffins if you’re interested. Mystery novels are some of my favorites.

Fears

- Fears? Embarrassingly enough I am quite terrified of heights. And possibly getting left out of something my friends are doing… but forget I told you.

How do you feel about the other Beast wielders?

Ember: her approach to most things… lacks some intellectual strength… but she means well and is entertaining to be around. I see a lot of potential in the kid and plan on looking out for her.

Abe: he’s a wonderful friend, but ever since Ronan’s passing he seems to have lost a part of himself. He’s not who he used to be… I worry about him.

Ivy: that girl’s mind works in ways that need to be studied. Both because she’s very intelligent and because her sanity is a tad concerning. Very helpful when I need ingredients however.

Winter: sure she can be a bit dry at times but I’m quite fond of her. She’s like a little paint covered creature that occasionally leaves her room for food. I think she’s fond of me too but refuses to admit it. I want to stuff her in my pocket and keep her safe.

Kei: he always looks like a handful of panicked nonsense and when he’s thinking his eyes twitch in kind of an unsettling manner- but I think he’s quite nice. Always off in his room reading those comics in some language I don’t understand.

Céfiro: the boy is very thoughtful but he’s always worrying about accidentally upsetting people or making them cross with him. Poor guy.

Ivy Herrington

20 years old, as of arc 3
Birthday 08/01

Abilities

- Abilities? I’m the earth wielder. I make plants grow. Horrayyyy can I go home now? No?? What kind of interview is this. I suppose I can also use my abilities to strangle my opponents or just gouge their eyes out with vines. Oh and I have a big axe, I’m not actually strong enough to lift it but the vines wrapped around its hilt are alive so my magic makes it alot lighter.

Favorite food

- My favorite food? I like pasta of all kinds, Just not spaghetti. Pasta feels nice. And it’s fun to say. Very pasta.

Hobbies

- Hobbies? If I actually had free time I’d be reading or on a hike. But beasts forbid my teammates aren’t constantly getting hurt and asking me to fix them. It’s very time consuming. I still get my hikes occasionally, I use the time to forage for materials and herbs I might need, saves us alot of money.

Fears

- Fears? That I might kill one of my patients. Not accidentally. They can really get on my nerves sometimes and it’s seriously testing my restraint.

How do you feel about the other Beast wielders?

Ember: she’s comically stupid, reminds me a lot of him. She can handle a shot better than Abe can I’ll give her that, decent conversationalist. Smells like cigarettes and years worth of missed bathes.

Abe: he’s pretty neat. very sad all the time, like those tree frogs with the watery eyes- I think that’s what he looks like on the inside. I assumed he was stupid at first, mainly because he is, but he surprised me with an impressive knowledge on rocks and other earthen minerals. I regret asking him, he yapped for like thirty minutes on why obsidian is a better material to use on blades than iron. Smells like leafy tea and the color gray.

Dawn: very shiny. Makes very intense eye contact during conversations, it’s terrifying and I don’t like it. She’s a good cook, whenever it’s her turn the dishes she makes aren’t as spicy as Abe’s, which I like. Very good hugger. Surprisingly immune to pain. I’m very scared of her. She also smells like honey and lightly of something soapy.

Winter: I like that she’s not noisy. One of the few people that can appreciate just sitting in someone’s presence without having to interact or say anything. Her aura is slightly more tense every time Ember enters the room, I wonder if it’s because of what happened? Smells like paint and lavender. I don’t like lavender.

Kei: he’s weird and small and often foils my plans by convincing Céfiro not to do things for me. He’s probably a homosexual I’m guessing purely off of vibes and his weird attachment to Céf. Smells don’t really stick to him because he’s in the water so often so he just smells wet all the time.

Céfiro:
You can get him to do just about anything if you ask nicely or threaten him enough. Very useful fellow, so smart yet so stupid. Smells kind of weird, not in a bad way but like a Mari-Ra dish I don’t remember the name of.

Glorbie?

“I am a god and glorbie is my Devine creation…”
Ivy laughs maniacally.

“Why are you still here? Be gone! You mustn’t tell anyone what you’ve seen. No one must know about glorbie….”

Ivy’s file cabinet

Don’t get caught snooping, unless you want a vine grown through your skull.

Furies

Furies, as of now, fall into one of four categories.
Wild furies (or the unchipped) are still quite common despite the fact that Genesis has about recaptured most of them. You’ll commonly find them roaming the woods or any unprotected area with a plentiful supply of living creatures. Wild furies are very dangerous and tend to wander in groups, it’s best to avoid areas marked as “infested” just to be safe.

The chipped

Chipped furies*, (see “the devices”) are owned and controlled by Genesis. They’re not very effective soldiers so most important tasks are preformed by doctor Shogane’s human workers. Can still be very dangerous and are often used as a disposable and plentiful army to slow us down, or even take us out if she’s lucky.

Commands

Commands, are also of the chipped variety and are twice as dangerous. Mutated furies that can range from 6 to even 8 feet tall, exceedingly stronger and harder to kill than the average fury. I’m not sure yet but either they were furies who somehow evolved in stature and strength on their own- via defect, or they were intentionally mutated to work as better soldiers for Genesis. Tend to be fewer in numbers, we normally see one per hoard of regular furies. Hence the name.

Rages

Rages, absolutely horrid creatures. I’m still kept up at night by our first encounter with one- it took out Dawn with a single hit- would’ve killed her if I hadn’t been able to treat her in time. Appearance wise they’re this shifting mass of dark ooze, made up of bits of flesh and bone from a multitude of furies. They can easily change form but I estimate they’re about eight to nine feet in stature. They smell horribly of rotting carcasses, which leads me to believe the “ooze”… is made up of no longer fresh blood and pulverized decaying remains. We haven’t seen many, but the only time we were able to defeat them is when Abe practically incinerated them with a massive unstable portal.* (see Abe’s hands)

The devices

The device, based on the information Céf’s radio managed to intercept, is imbued with a powerful neurotoxin that specifically targets the creature’s brain, essentially snoozing the brains primal instincts like sleeping, eating, reacting to pain, and general self awareness. The device then delivers a simple command, probably using an image of some kind as instruction. Because the brain is in such a dead, susceptible state, it welcomes this sudden instruction as positive stimuli and sets it as a new primal instinct. This causes the instructions the individual received to be set as more important than even the things I listed before, eating, sleeping, reaction to pain, etc.
in conclusion the subject will stop at absolutely nothing to complete its task, even if it perishes in the process.
We don’t know what Genesis’s original purpose was for the project, but records state that the research; led by doctor Shogane herself, was in progress before the initial outbreak. Sure it could’ve been tweaked for the furies later on but…
…if she was working on this experiment before the outbreak that means it was designed for something else. Isn’t it?

06

During our recent raid of Genesis headquarters, I came across some files mentioning a project titled “06” I’m not sure what it is yet but am not looking forward to meeting it.

Abe’s hands

If we weren’t living mid-apocalypse I would love to see the look of confusion on a scientist’s face in the event that Abe were to take a DNA test and see the results come back as “0.12% plant”. It would be hilarious.
This was an interesting case. during the events of the battle outside Toris Ignis, Abe was backed into a predicament that he could find no apparent solution to except “I dunno teleport your troubles away”. Dawn had been stabbed in the back (which later led to her needing 52 staple stitches, isn’t that fun.) and was quickly bleeding out, whilst I had been knocked out (for only a few minutes mind you) and the team of idiots not knowing what to do without me were naturally panicking and yelling at Abe. They could’ve abandoned post and headed home but that would’ve risked the lives of thousands, because our situation happened to be holding back a hoard of furies to protect a populated city left vulnerable by a damaged wall. Somehow in a moment of panic Abe decided to open an insanely large unstable portal (I don’t yet understand HOW, that was an inhuman amount of godly power to survive using. There are limits for a reason Abyssias.) incinerating every creature in range of it, including his hands. Alright story over on to the medical record. Although no sign of outward drastic blood loss, after falling unconscious the patient’s heart began to fail for approximately an hour. I and Céfiro spent the time tiredly restarting it over and over again until his vitals held steady. His hands suffered severe burns which I correctly suspected would lead to possibly permanent nerve and muscle damage.
The muscle healed rather quickly, probably subject to the fact that us beast Wielders possess literal gods blood. However nerve damage showed no signs of recovery. I offered him an uncertain solution, which he precariously accepted. something I had been previously studying since acquiring my abilities was the relation between human and other organic substance’s nervous systems, which I first found success in Glorbie*, (see “Glorbie”) a sentient plant based organism that can in fact feel and identify pain. Who’s to say with my ability to manipulate plant life I couldn’t use it to ‘transplant’ (haha get it) a working nervous system from one organism to another? I was very excited to test this theory on a human subject, however Abe did not share my enthusiasm. Sure if it went wrong (at worse) I could disrupt the cranial nerves and the subject would become paralyzed and/or die instantly, but isn’t that risk worth being able to feel and fight again? And to progress medical science? Honestly he’s no fun.

Ember’s burns

Ember’s face suffered severe cold burns from the “incident” and was unconscious for about sixteen hours- not quite long enough to be a coma but probably not a nap. Who knows maybe she recovers by sleeping the day away. One of her front canines was knocked straight out, I am not a dentist so I hope it won’t be too much of an issue aside from the kid getting a little uglier. Nothing she can’t handle I’m sure, considering it was already a struggle. I get the sense that the scar won’t be healing anytime soon either, but she’s otherwise recovering well. However she did report suffering from a “splitting headache” afterwards. since the event she’s been strangely twitchy and absent minded like she’s listening to something I can’t hear. I wonder if the ice hit her hard enough to knock a screw loose.

The incident involving Winter Shogane

You open the file titled “the incident involving Winter Shogane” only to find that it’s empty. This must be something time doesn’t want you to know about yet…You hear footsteps hurriedly approaching, Ivy is coming back. You should leave before she finds you here.

Kei Nahele

19 years old, as of arc 3
Birthday 04/23

Abilities

- Abilities? I’m the sea wielder, I tend to work in short range attacks. I don’t normally carry weapons and prefer hand to hand combat. Most of the time that’s not necessary when I can easily break my opponent’s spine with a little water.

Favorite food

- My favorite food? I like salad. I also like the look of terror on Ivy’s face when I eat it in front of her. Tuna salad is pretty good as well, the fish are easy to catch and equally terrified of me.

Hobbies

- Hobbies? I keep a journal, I enjoy writing. I used to want to be an author, since I was pretty good at storytelling and I loved reading comics. I also like origami, I always get a good reaction out of Céf when I fold him animals- He thinks they’re neat.

Fears

- Fears? I really don’t like bugs, critters like that are disgusting. No animal needs that many legs.

How do you feel about the other Beast wielders?

Ember: I got a bone to pick with this new guy, they seem like a real asshole. I don’t like them, and I don’t trust them. They keep trying to talk to me like we could be friends or something. Which we definitely won’t be.

Abe: our self appointed leader, bringing obnoxious height, depression, and an unnecessary mourning homosexual vibe to the table. At least he’s a decent cook.

Dawn: she’s… actually quite nice always thinking ahead and looking out for others. Terrible cook however, too bland. She’s very good at getting people to talk, somehow she got me to explain the plot of my favorite comic series to her and she just… listened.

Ivy: she definitely has something wrong with her, but I’d consider her a friend. I guess. I don’t think Ivy really has “friends” though, just plants. Very easy to annoy and entertaining to bother.

Winter: Winter is pretty cool, like me she’s probably the most normal of the group. A very talented artist, however she normally doesn’t willingly show me her art. her muse of choice is… interesting. Loves to gossip, has quite a lot of secrets to share, and only me to share them with.

Céfiro: I don’t know how but somehow he’s made himself my friend. He’s surprisingly tolerable and fun to talk to, I’m getting him to read my favorite comic series. He’s… cute, although I’d never admit it to his face. There’s something slightly sinister about the fellow though, I think he knows how easily I’ll fold for him. He definitely knows something, and whatever it is he’s good at using it against me.

Céfiro Abano

20 years old, as of arc 3
Birthday 03/04

Abilities

- Abilities? I’m the storm wielder! I can create friction in the air to generate lightning, and I also have control of other weather-y things. I typically work with long range attacks, which is easy for me considering how far I can reach. Get it? Because- long- long arms? I’m really tall? Yeah you get it.

Favorite food

- My favorite food? Ooo anything that’s my mom’s home cooking, Mari-Ra dishes are the best especially fresh made Sopes- the crunchier the better.

Hobbies

- Hobbies? I do quite a bit of tinkering in my time, I love building things. Do you know what toasters are? They’re really cool, you put food in and the little hot coils cook it really fast and it comes out all hot and crunchy, it’s fantastic.

Fears

- Fears? I’m a tad bit afraid that my friends don’t really like me, so I try to be as useful as possible. Don’t tell them i said that though, I wouldn’t want them to feel bad.

How do you feel about the other Beast wielders?

Ember: I’m sure she’s… nice? I feel bad that I may have spooked her when we first met but I hope we can be buddies. Small, clever, and I think her hair is neat.

Abe: he hasn’t quite been himself lately but I assure you he’s a very good friend. Tasty cooking and a very thoughtful fellow, in another life I question if he would’ve been someone’s housewife.

Dawn: very cool and very good at keeping eye contact, a little too good- it’s very uncomfortable. She’s very supportive of my creations which is nice because most people aren’t.

Ivy: I like Ivy a lot, I think we’re friends but I’m not sure if it’s mutual… she asks me to build her a lot of things and appreciates my work, I think we make a pretty great team.

Winter: she can be kind of snappy sometimes but she’s still nice, me her and Kei hang out a lot together. (we would invite Ivy but she’s always too busy…) I thought maybe we could try including Ember since she’s close in age with us but Winter immediately left and went back to her room. She’ll warm up to everyone eventually I think.

Kei: all of my friends are awesome but Kei is definitely my best friend. he’s really smart and talented, and he can even make little animals out of paper! One day when we end the apocalypse I hope we stay friends forever and live in a little house with a chicken named Veronica.

Winter Shogane

19 years old, as of arc 3
Birthday 12/29

Abilities

- Abilities? I am the ice wielder, which is self explanatory. I’ve been using a bow since I was six, making me exceedingly skilled in archery.

Favorite food

- My favorite food? I suppose I like raspberries, they’re pink and sweet- maybe a tad sour.

Hobbies

- Hobbies? I get plenty of archery practice in the field of battle so these days I spend my spare time painting. I’d consider myself quite good at the medium, I put nothing but my best into everything I do- that is the way of success.

Fears

- Fears? I don’t like the deep ocean. It’s dark, cold, lonely, unpredictable. Succumbing to such a fate as drowning in water too dark to see into is a fear that daunts me.

How do you feel about the other Beast wielders?

Ember: the new fellow is… obnoxious I suppose. They seem to be everywhere I go, haunting me like a ghost with cute pink hair and an unnecessarily wide grin. I might turn her into a popsicle.

Abe: he’s very kind, not too bright but at least he’s not noisy. He always compliments my art and remarks about it in great detail, just like my dad used to. He’s a good leader, keeps everyone accounted for, pays attention to detail, leaves no one behind.

Dawn: she’s very strong willed and would do anything to keep us safe. Although most people rely on Kei to translate sign I can tell Dawn is really trying to learn which I’m grateful for. Bright, bold, and admirable, like the sun.

Ivy: she’s a strange being. A doctor with more common sense than most and simultaneously lacking sensibility to begin with, someone my father would have loved. I think she speaks to herself whether someone is there to witness or not. I tend to listen to her ramblings and piece together what project she’s currently stressing about.

Kei: he and I have a similar sense of humor, and I enjoy our late night chats. He’s very good at keeping a secret, (as am I) making him good for trading thoughts with. I would tell you more, but of course that’s a well kept secret.

Céfiro: a funny fellow, always stressing what other people think of him. Talks a lot, and has too much faith in humanity. Concerningly skilled and intelligent, but lacks the will to make anything too overpowered so honestly I wouldn’t fret it. Made a request awhile back, still waiting on that Glock 19 you promised me Céf.

Abilities

- abilities? I am the moon wielder, gifted the ability to create portals in a variety of sizes. I always have at least three daggers on hand, good for close range combat.

Favorite food

- my favorite food? Food’s overrated, I eat when I’m hungry. (Which is generally all the time) I suppose I do really enjoy a sweet mango… mango sticky rice is an excellent dish. Reminds me of home, years ago…

Hobbies

- hobbies? I’m a formable blacksmith, taught by the best in my city. Let me know if you’re ever in need of repairing a weapon of sorts, I can assure it will be good as new.

Fears

- fears? I don’t fear things, things fear me.

How do you feel about the other Beast wielders?

Ember: the kids got a spine I’ll give her that. She’s also got a big mouth that she doesn’t know when to shut. I’ll be looking out for her, I don’t want to see this kid get hurt…
…I won’t make the same mistake twice.

Dawn: I hold a strong admiration for Dawn, she’s one of my closest friends. An excellent cook as well although some of her work is a bit under seasoned… don’t ever tell her that though she will kick you. I state that from experience.

Ivy: she’s a bit hard to understand at times, but I personally enjoy our chats. That reminds me, I found an interesting looking rock the other day that I was hoping she could help me identify…

Winter: a bundle of porcupine quills is one way to describe her. She does have a soft side and is really quite kind if you catch her in a good mood. She just doesn’t want to admit it. She’s also a very talented painter, the stuff she’s shown me is quite impressive.

Kei: small and aggressive is what comes to mind, although he tends to have the most common sense of the group. Well, unless it involves Céfiro, then all of that strategic thinking is out the window.

Céfiro: very thoughtful, and a big pushover. He’s quite talented but I am with concern for his abilities, even if we did end the apocalypse Céf might just start another one with some crazy machine he’s built.
